Commercial Bank was established as the country’s first private bank in 1975.
Founded by a small group of enterprising businessmen, led by Hussain Alfardan. The ambition of our founding fathers was to bring modern banking to a newly independent nation, whose economy had been dependent on pearl fishing and trading for hundreds of years.
With the opening of our first full-service branch in Souq Al Ahmed in 1980, the bank went on to accomplish many significant milestones over the course of 40 years. We were the first bank in the country to offer a Ladies’ Branch for women only and the first to offer our customers ground-breaking banking conveniences, such as ATMs, POS machines, credit cards and the first internet banking services.
As an organisation, it has always been paramount for us to keep innovation at the forefront of our business, to keep pace with Qatar’s evolving population and growth as a nation. At the same time, our strong heritage and Qatari roots have always been deeply embedded in our operations. It is with this mentality that we have been able to grow to 29 branches and excel in both revenue growth and improving customer satisfaction.

Not too bad as banks go although they seem as though they would prefer me to have a loan or credit card at every opportunity.

Very disappointed as the bank has frozen an incorrect amount of money due to the transaction, as a consequence, I could not pay my rent, the cheque bounced the bank and then the bank deducted a 100 Riyals fee for that. This is ridiculous!

I would say most customer service (Not all) were unprofessional. A CBQ bank employee lied to me, to just get me off the phone, mind you he was my bank relationship manager (focal contact).

Worst bank ever its been 4 days everyday waiting for long queue line to reach customer service but failed eve booked online appointment but very failed service . They dnt care about people time .

My credit card was charged but i did not authorize it. I needed help to raise a dispute to reverse the charge. After verification through CBQ IVR there is no option for me to speak to a live representative.Option 1= accounts = it will provide your account balance, option 2 = credit card activation “which blocked temporarily, option 3= to enable your card for international transaction then # to end the call. No available representative to provide help? I spent an hour over the phone to get a live representative but no luck. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! it seems like you need to go to one of their branch to sort things out. What a Service!

Poor and very bad customer sevice I experienced in their City center branch. This lady seating 2nd row from the left with fake eyebrows let me wait for 15mins just to do her things on her PC without even asking me what is my concern! PLEASE AVOID CITY CENTER BRANCH!!!

I have the CBQ account since yrs, until I lost QAR 52000 to fraud no support from the bank, customer service & bank manager do not fully aware how the credit card system works. Never recovered the money, no protection.

The bank at the moment has great market share but evident at a stage immune to customer complaints & bad experiences

Really a bad service from branch and customer service……I lost my money from my account someone hacked there system and wen I go to complain the lady told they cannot do anything and she told that if I want I can close my account from the bank
Even wen I asked the assurance of my account she told there nthng assurance about our account indirectly she is saying that we don’t have secured bank account
